Blackheads are called the small bumps that appear on the skin and are caused by clogged hair follicles. Their name is blackheads because the surface looks black or dark. They have this color since they contain a pigment that is known as oxidized melanin and it is made by the skin cells that are called melanocytes.
What is causing blackheads?
- Hormonal changes in the body
- Caffeine and alcohol
- Food (sugary, fried and those foods with a lot carbohydrates)
- Sleeping with makeup
Home remedies for blackheads:
- Mint toothpaste
- 1 ice cube
You need to take 1 tablespoon of salt and mix it with 2 tablespoons of mint paste. Mix them until you get a homogeneous paste.
You need to apply this paste on the affected areas and then leave it to stay for around 5 minutes or until it becomes dry. Then you should put a little bit water and gently massage the area with circular motions. Once the skin is clear, you need to rub it with an ice cube on.
- 1 egg white
- Half a teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
First you need to separate the yolk from the white and then mix all the ingredients. Then, you need to open the pores by washing the face with warm water. Dry it carefully and completely with a towel. Apply the mask on your face using circular motions. Avoid the area close to your eyes and mouth.
Then you should wait for 15 minutes without talking or smiling. Afterwards, you should take off the mask slowly by using warm water. When the process is done, wash the face with cold water in order to close the pores. Again you should dry your face completely and then you can put a bit of olive oil to moisturize.
- 3 tablespoons of baking soda
- 2 cups of warm water
Add the baking soda in the warm water and then mix it well. Use this mixture to massage your face two times a day. After a few days the blackheads will disappear.
